"Transition 5.0: opportunities for photovoltaic operators": our webinar for photovoltaic installers

The online meeting, held on 5 November and organised in partnership with the consultancy firm Officine Rinnovabili, was a further opportunity to prove our commitment to disseminating the benefits and operating principles of the Italian government's plan to professionals in our industry

The online meeting, held on 5 November and organised in partnership with the consultancy firm Officine Rinnovabili, was a further opportunity to prove our commitment to disseminating the benefits and operating principles of the Italian government's plan to professionals in our industry

Providing necessary tools to installers and professionals, along with the relevant technical information, and making all the advantages and functioning of the Transition 5.0 Plan known. These were the main objectives of the webinar we co-organised with the consultancy firm Officine Rinnovabili on 5 November. A free online meeting open to all and called 'Transition 5.0: opportunities for photovoltaic operators'.

Gianni Perrone, Channel Sales Manager at 3SUN, and Roberto Lombardo, CEO of Officine Rinnovabili presented the benefits of the measure and illustrated the support that 3SUN and Officine Rinnovabili can offer in the overall process, by introducing, implementing and managing the different energy efficiency projects required to access the benefits of the plan.

Unity is strength, even to spread the opportunities offered by Transition 5.0

The sharing session was useful to deepen the plan further, by addressing the most relevant topics for installers, with a specific focus on the role PV can play in driving change and helping companies make the most of every opportunity brought forward by the plan. Indeed, the measure is aimed at all companies in Italy that are planning an energy efficiency intervention with a further development opportunity represented by photovoltaic units

In this context, we strongly believe that supporting the people in the field of energy efficiency and consultancy to network can enable synergies with photovoltaic players, i.e. distributors, EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractors and installers, in order to make the most of the manoeuvre's measures.

For this and other reasons, collaboration between complementary actors proves to be a winning choice. And this is where companies such as Officine Rinnovabili come in, as they can provide support services to photovoltaic operators to identify and propose the Plan 5.0 to industrial realities and beyond.

Thus, during the online course on 5 November, we tried to answer the most frequently asked questions about the Country’s energy transition and digitisation plan. Here is a summary of the points addressed:

Why is Transition 5.0 considered such a relevant measure?

As Perrone pointed out in his speech: ‘Taking advantage of Plan 5.0 means a significant economic return. Indeed, speaking of figures, the plan contains incentives for EUR 6.3 billions. 'The measure - continued our Channel Sales Manager - also facilitates the reduction of energy consumption and the process digitisation. Businesses can thus obtain an incentive in the form of a tax credit from the 3% primary energy reduction in the end use of their general energy process, and a possible 35% tax credit obtainable already in the following tax year'.

What is in store for the Italian photovoltaic sector?

Understanding the importance of Transition 5.0 for the photovoltaic industry in the context of Europe's energy transition, security and independence goals is crucial. We would like to point out that the European Net Zero Industry Act (NZIA) has set ambitious targets for strategic autonomy for the Continent. Concretely, it foresees a coverage of 40% of the EU's domestic needs by 2030 with clean technologies produced within EU Member States. In this sense, the Transition 5.0 goes in the right direction, focusing on high-performance photovoltaic modules and cells that are made in Europe in order to access the expected economic benefits.

What guarantees do 3SUN products offer?

In this process, our solar modules play a major role. The webinar speaker, our colleague Perrone, reiterated this: ‘3SUN's technology and history are a strong guarantee for our products. We rely on decades of know-how in the development and industrialisation of HJT (heterojunction) technology, which makes our modules a reliable and certified product with very high technical performance. In fact, our company - founded in 2010 from the joint venture between Enel Green Power, STMicroelectronics and Sharp - has been engaged in research and development of solar technologies for years.

High-performance modules 'made in Europe': a perfect match for the needs of Transition 5.0

Our solar modules fall within the technical (efficiency levels) and territorial (European production) specifications of the Transition 5.0 Plan, more concretely, the ENEA photovoltaic technology register for access to the plan's benefits. ‘We shed a fundamental light on how heterojunction technology with a bifacial cell, mainly through the higher temperature coefficient and bifaciality, can make photovoltaic systems more producible," Perrone emphasised during the webinar, adding: ‘The benefits and technical differences that 3SUN brings to the market with its HJT technology are reflected in the high-performance products that provide a better response in terms of efficiency and durability.’
